Kirsten Rossi Porcelli
Assistant Director, Musical Theater 360
Kirsten Rossi Porcelli grew up in Newtown, Pennsylvania, but has lived the past 10 years as singer/actress in New York City until recently, when she moved back to her hometown after having her baby girl.
Kirsten graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a BFA in Music theater, 2000. After moving to New York City upon graduation, she joined the company NYGASP where she performed in the operettas' The Sorcerer and Trial by Jury. She then landed her first national tour in the musical Smokey Joe's Cafe with Gladys Knight. From there,
Kirsten headlined the National tour of "Cinderella" with many other NY and regional companies. Kirsten has performed in many NY staged readings and played the role of "Cleopatra" in the National Opera Associations Production of "Cleo". Kirsten has also performed with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia. Kirsten's proudest and most accomplished role to date was "Maria" in the Asian/European International tour of West Side Story directed by Joey McKneely.
For 8 years, when Kirsten was on hiatus from touring, she worked as a teacher/performer for Applause theatricals, a premiere music theater program for children in New York City. This is where Kirsten found passion in exposing children to music, theater and broadway. She has taught mommy and me classes (6 months to 3 years) and music theater classes (4 years to 12 years).
In 2007, Kirsten decided to pursue a graduate degree from Brooklyn College and in 2009, received her MS in Elementary Education. She taught Kindergarten for 1 year before moving back to PA. She now resides in Newtown with her daughter
and works as a first grade teacher at The Newtown Friends School.
She is very happy to be a part of The Music Theater 360 program with Shelly O'Hara.
